Synthesis of 2H-Chromenes, Enones, Chalcones and biological studies

Synthesis and Biological studies of 2H-Chromene derivatives, Enones and Chalcones have been divided into two chapter. Chapter-I describes the Synthesis of new (E)-4-(2-phenyl-2H-chromen-3-yl)but-3-en-2-ones. 2H-Chromene aldehydes were synthesized by Michael-Aldol Reaction. Further Aldol reaction provided alpha, beta unsaturated ketone.In vitro antimicrobial activities of the synthesized compounds were evaluated. Chapter-II elaborates synthesis of enones and chalcones and their Biological activities

Dr. Sabita Nayak studied chemistry at the Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, Odisha (India) and obtained her PhD in 2008 from the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune under the supervision of Dr. Mukund K Gurjar.Currently She is continuing as a lecturer in Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha.
